Kayara Akiva
Screenwriter
Kayara Akiva is the pen name of Kayara Hardnett-Barnes. Kayara majored in film and media studies and sociology at Smith College and lives in western Massachusetts. She is a writer, a poet, a dreamer of better worlds, and an excellent human being. At Self-Evident she has written original curriculum to support our films and she served as the Head Writer for our newest film Get a Mule Forty Acres or So... In this role she conducted research and worked with a diverse team to bring this important film to the world. Additonally she did voice acting in the film.
